NOW OFFERING HEAD SPA TREATMENTS
In the realm of wellness and beauty, the head spa has emerged as a treatment of relaxation with therapeutic benefits. Originating from Japan, this luxurious treatment encompasses a comprehensive approach to scalp and hair care, promising not just aesthetic improvement but profound relaxation as well.
At its core, a head spa is a specialized treatment focusing on the scalp, hair, with the option of a neck & shoulder massage. Other treatments are often added on, such as mini facials, brow waxes, etc. Unlike regular hair-washing routines, a head spa involves a series of meticulous steps designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the scalp. It is akin to a facial for the scalp, offering a deeper level of care that addresses various issues such as dandruff, hair thinning, and stress.
A typical head spa session includes several key components:
· Scalp Diagnosis: The process begins with a thorough analysis of the scalp and hair condition. This helps in customizing the treatment according to individual needs.
· Cleansing: Gentle, yet effective cleansers are used to remove dirt, excess oil, and product buildup from the scalp and hair.
· Exfoliation: Special scrubs or exfoliating agents are applied to slough off dead skin cells and promote blood circulation.
· Massage: This is the heart of the head spa experience. Using various techniques, the therapist massages the scalp, neck, and shoulders, alleviating tension and stimulating hair follicles.
· Steaming: Warm steam is often used to open up pores and enhance the absorption of nourishing products.
· Mask or Treatment: Depending on the diagnosis, a nutrient-rich mask, oils and/or other treatments are applied to address specific scalp or hair concerns.
During this time a facial, or other add on treatments will occur.
· Rainfall Rinse and Finishing touches: A luxurious rainfall rinse from the halo is a key component to the head spa, followed by the application of serums or tonics to seal in the benefits.
· Clients will receive a rough blow dry under a hooded dryer (no styling) if desired. Or the hair will be wrapped in a cozy micro fibre towel that the client can wear home.
Regular head spa treatments can boost hair growth. The massage techniques employed during the session enhance blood circulation to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive ample nutrients and oxygen. This can stimulate hair growth.
A healthy scalp is the foundation of healthy hair. Head spa treatments address various scalp issues such as dandruff, dryness, and excess oil production. The cleansing and exfoliation processes remove impurities, while the nourishing masks restore the scalp’s natural balance.
One of the most immediate benefits of a head spa is the profound sense of relaxation it induces. The soothing massage techniques release tension from the scalp, neck, and shoulders, significantly reducing stress levels. This not only promotes mental well-being but also aids in better quality of life.
By providing deep nourishment and care, head spa treatments improve the overall quality of hair. They make the hair more manageable, shiny, and resilient to damage. Regular treatments can also help in repairing and preventing split ends.
In today's fast-paced world, finding time for self-care is essential. A head spa offers a perfect blend of relaxation and therapeutic care, making it an ideal choice for those looking to rejuvenate both physically and mentally. Whether you are dealing with specific scalp issues or simply seeking a luxurious escape from daily stress, a head spa promises an experience of tranquility and revitalization.
The head spa is more than just a beauty treatment; it is a journey towards holistic well-being. By addressing both physical and mental aspects, it offers a comprehensive approach to self-care. As it continues to gain popularity worldwide, the head spa stands as a testament to the timeless value of nurturing oneself. Indulge in this exquisite experience and discover the myriad benefits it brings to your scalp, hair, and overall peace of mind.
When to Avoid Head Spa Treatments:
While head spa treatments offer numerous benefits for scalp and hair health, certain conditions may need caution or complete avoidance of such treatments. Here are some contraindications to consider:
If you have any form of scalp infection, such as ringworm or folliculitis, it is advised to steer clear of head spa treatments. The massage and products used could potentially exacerbate the infection, spread it further, or cause irritation.
Any open wounds, sores, or cuts on the scalp should be fully healed before undergoing a head spa treatment. Exposing such areas to various products and massages can increase the risk of infection and slow down the healing process.
Although we carry salon quality products that are designed to be safe for many scalp conditions, such as psoriasis, individuals with skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, or severe dermatitis may want to consult a dermatologist before opting for a head spa.
If you have recently undergone any surgical procedures on the head or neck, it is essential to get approval from your healthcare provider before engaging in a head spa. The massage techniques could interfere with the healing process or cause discomfort.
Those with known allergies to specific hair care products or ingredients should inform the therapist beforehand. A patch test may be recommended to ensure that none of the products used during the treatment will cause an allergic reaction.
Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider prior to undergoing head spa treatments. Certain essential oils or techniques are not recommended during pregnancy. Also, the treatment requires you to lay flat on your back for a minimum of an hour, depending on the treatment options selected. We highly recommend that you consult your physician before booking a head spa.
If you have recently undergone chemical treatments like hair coloring, perming, or relaxing, it is advisable to wait for approximately 2 weeks before getting a head spa. This allows the scalp to recover and reduces the risk of irritation. Our products are all salon quality and color safe, but we simply can’t guarantee the head spa won’t cause any fading or irritation, immediately after a chemical treatment.
Freshly placed or tight hair extensions can make the treatment difficult to administer.
It is important that the client gets the full benefit of the head spa treatment, including deep scalp massage and exfoliation. Therefor, it is highly recommended to come in between pull-ups to avoid any damage to your hair and hair extensions.
Head spa treatments offer a wealth of benefits, but it is crucial to be mindful of these contraindications to ensure a safe and beneficial experience. Always consult with healthcare professionals if you have any concerns or pre-existing conditions that might affect your suitability for a head spa.
Please reach us at jerisbeautyvault@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
It is best if you don’t wash your hair for about 24-48 hours prior to a treatment.
Absolutely not! Our Spa is inclusive of ALL GENDERS. Please don’t hesitate to share your preferred pronouns.
A rough blow dry is optional. This means the hair is dried sitting under a hooded dryer but not styled. For some clients, a blow dry is not a relaxing way to finish a treatment. So, we also offer the option of a micro fibre towel hair wrap you can wear home.
You can wear anything you want. You will be given a spa wrap to wear on your top half. When you arrive, we will give you privacy to remove the top half of your clothing, and then you can put on the spa wrap. We do this so your top half of clothing remains dry. But you have the option of undressing as far as you feel comfortable. You will be fully covered in blankets.
The Head Spa treatment is meant to be a relaxing and quiet experience. We ask that cellphones are put away and on silent for the full session. Thank you.
**At this time, if you have extremely long hair (to just above your waist or longer) we will NOT be able to perform the treatment. The chance of creating large tangles or mats is a risk we don’t want to take. Thank you for your understanding.**
YES! All hair textures are welcome and encouraged. However, if you know that your hair mats or tangles very easily, this may not be the treatment for you. It is best to chat to your Head Spa specialist before commencing the treatment. If your hair has braids, sew ins or any type of extensions, we may not be able get to the scalp properly. Please consult your specialist before booking.
